Who died?
The Black Death wiped
out about one-third of the population of Europe. It killed about 20 million
people. It spread quickly through the dirty towns and cities. Townsfolk who
sought refuge in the country spread the disease to rural areas. By 1400 the
disease had killed about 40 million people (Europe). In 1800 it began in China
and killed even more people. The Jews were killed by the disease because of
their religion. Over 50 million people died during The Black Death. It wiped
out one third of the population of Europe.
