How did it end?
Pope Clement VI left
his court in Avignon, France for estate called Chateau-nauf. He is said to have
sat by a great fireplace in his manor house, praying that the fire would keep
away the disease. Perhaps it worked, Clement survived the Plague. It died,
although it reappeared over the next three centuries. Improvements in sanitary
conditions helped. Drugs helped out as well. They started practicing proper
hygiene. People would stay in their houses and only leave if they had to get
food or for something else.
