There was 3 major Plague’s; the Justinian, Black Death, and the Modern Plague. The Justinian Plague begin in 541 AD, named after the 6th century Byzantine emperor Justinian. It killed over 25 million people. The Modern Plague began in China in the 1860s. It killed about 20 million people. In 1896, the Russian scientist Waldemor Haffkine developed the first Plague Vaccine. The earliest plague may be the epidemic reported in the First Book of Samuel in the Old Testament. Outbreaks were frequent in the Mediterranean region throughout the remainder of the 500s. In 1894 two doctors; Alexander Yersin and Shibasabura Kitsato independently identified the bacteria that caused the Plague. The Plague would usually happen in common developing regions.
